The Client

Company manufactures alternators, starters and hybrid motors for the heavy and light duty original equipment markets as well as power drives and power trains. It is also a supplier of remanufactured alternators and starters to the aftermarket.

The Situation

The client wished to streamline its delivery system by implementing the same day delivery feature and integrating real time FedEx tracking into its e-commerce portal to incorporate real time shipment estimation and shipment tracking. In addition, its legacy applications needed to be re-engineered and migrated to the state-of-the-art web application platform.

The Solution

We fulfilled the client’s critical business need by developing a sales order manual entry and spreadsheet upload. An efficient management system was implemented which included sales order history (shipped/not shipped) and confirmation and shipment emails/carrier tracking. In addition, invoice details, a work/holiday/outage calendar and portal document management capabilities were deployed.


Our solution resulted in significant performance improvement, bringing down the process time from four hours to three minutes by using effective database operations. The streamlined delivery system led to enhanced sales, on time delivery and improved customer satisfaction.
