Client is one of the leading manufactures integrated circuits in high volume mostly for semiconductor companies. Client mainly produces custom built components. It has five 200 mm wafer fabrication plants in Singapore, one 300 mm fabrication plant in both Germany and Singapore, and three fabrication plants in the United States: one 200 mm fabrication plant in Vermont and two 300 mm fabrication plants in New York.
The product configuration details captured at salesforce was supposed to be maintained at external ERP system SAP. Initially salesforce was directly integrated with this external ERP system. This integration failed at instances like scheduled batches, users updating same records. JKT thus integrated Dell Boomi as a middle ware that seamlessly managed the transactions between salesforce and external ERP system.
The solution involved introducing of DellBoomi as middleware to overcome the challenges due to bulk transactions and API callout errors.
Configured salesforce workflow outbound message which notified the Dell Boomi upon every insert and update request made at salesforce.
Dell Boomi processed the data and sequenced the request from Salesforce in a queue. Based on the availibility the request was forwarded to the ERP system to execute the data operations.
ERP system inturn acknowledge with a status update with description via Dell Boomi same was updated on the salesforce data modules.
Apart from providing a technical solution for the current business challenge they had, we were able to achieve something more important which was Digital Mind-set or awareness in the client’s management team. And a result:
